You’ve Got a Friend in Giving: 200 Toys Delivered to Sunrise Children’s Hospital
Sold-out Toy Story 5 screening hosted by Regal Cinemas and FamilyFun.Vegas brings local families together to support children receiving care at Sunrise Children’s Hospital
LAS VEGAS, NV — The toys weren’t just on the big screen during a recent showing of Toy Story 5. Thanks to the generosity of local families, 200 toys made their way to patients at Sunrise Children’s Hospital.
Hosted by Regal Cinemas and FamilyFun.Vegas, the sold-out community event held June 24 transformed a night at the movies into an opportunity to bring comfort, entertainment and joy to children receiving care at the hospital.
As part of FamilyFun.Vegas’ Big Screen, Big Hearts movie night series, local families came together during a sold-out screening of Toy Story 5 and collected more than 200 toys for patients at Sunrise Children’s Hospital. The donations were later delivered to the hospital, helping brighten the days of children receiving care.
“The generosity of our community never ceases to amaze us,” said Todd P. Sklamberg, chief executive officer of Sunrise Hospital and Sunrise Children’s Hospital. “These toys are much more than gifts—they provide comfort, encouragement and moments of normalcy for children and families during challenging times. We are grateful to Regal Cinemas, FamilyFun.Vegas and everyone who helped make this event such a success.”
From action figures and dolls to games, crafts and stuffed animals, the donated toys will provide comfort and healing for pediatric patients throughout the year.
The event showcased the power of community partnerships and the impact that can happen when local businesses and families come together for a common cause. What began as a family movie night became an opportunity to create brighter moments for children when they need them most.
While the Toy Story 5 screening benefited patients at Sunrise Children’s Hospital, Regal Cinemas and FamilyFun.Vegas will continue their Big Screen, Big Hearts series throughout the year, partnering with local organizations and charities to create meaningful opportunities for the community to give back. Buzz and Woody may have stolen the spotlight on screen, but the community was the real star of the show—proving that a simple night at the movies can create a blockbuster impact for local nonprofits.
