Approximately 200 local residents attended the July 15 special screening of Disney’s live-action Moana, exchanging school-supply donations for admission
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — July 16, 2026 — Approximately 200 Las Vegas residents came together for an evening of movies, family activities and community giving at the latest Big Screens, Big Hearts premiere, hosted by FamilyFun.Vegas and Regal Cinemas Red Rock on Wednesday, July 15.
Attendees brought new school supplies to help local students prepare for the upcoming school year. The event generated more than 200 donated school supplies, demonstrating that families do not need to make a large financial contribution to have a meaningful impact in their community.
Guests were welcomed at check-in with colorful leis and Moana and Maui friendship bracelets before attending a special premiere screening of Disney’s live-action Moana. Families also enjoyed games and coloring activities in the theater lobby.
Every attendee was entered into a raffle featuring Moana gift baskets and family packs of four passes to Cowabunga Vegas.
On July 16, FamilyFun.Vegas and Regal Cinemas Red Rock delivered the collected supplies to Doral Academy Red Rock Elementary School, where Principal Steve Piccininni met with organizers to receive the donations and express his appreciation. The supplies will be distributed to students and families at the school who need additional assistance.
“Big Screens, Big Hearts was created to give Las Vegas families a fun and accessible way to make a difference together,” said Kelly Rossi, owner of FamilyFun.Vegas and Marketing Magnitude. “More than 200 school supplies were collected because local families each contributed what they could. When a community comes together, even smaller donations add up to something incredibly meaningful.”
Big Screens, Big Hearts combines family movie premieres with opportunities to support Las Vegas children, schools and charitable organizations. The initiative’s guiding message, “Giving Back Is Your Ticket In,” makes community involvement part of a memorable family experience.
The next Big Screens, Big Hearts event will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Regal Cinemas Red Rock. The event will feature a premiere screening of Coyote vs. Acme and benefit the Las Vegas Humane Society.
