Lone Mountain Park is connected to Lone Mountain Regional Park via a walking path near the Equestrian Center.
There are amenities that you can find in Lone Mountain Park that you can’t find in most parks.
Hiking Lone Mountain
Let’s start with its namesake. Lone Mountain Park has easy access to the hiking and horse trails for Lone Mountain. Lone Mountain is a stand-alone mountain that stands at 560 feet. At the base of the mountain is a 3.2-mile jogging/hiking trail that is also open to horseback riders as well. The trails climbing Lone Mountain are easy, but prepare for some jagged footing in some areas. At the peak, you will see beautiful views of the Las Vegas Valley and Red Rock.
Equestrian Center
Lone Mountain Park is one of the only parks in the area that caters to horses. A covered equestrian arena resides near the trails at the bottom of Lone Mountain accompanied by two round equine pens (one 60′ round pen and one 40′ round pen) and horse trailer parking.
Dog Park
Summer 2022 marks the opening of Lone Mountain’s Dog Park. Three grassy fenced areas accommodate our canine friends. In the runs, you will find agility training structures and dog splash pads.
Children’s Discovery Park
Tucked away in the north area of Lone Mountain Park is an area every parent and teacher must know about. Designed with children’s education in mind, J.W. Zunino & Associates created play structures that teach mathematics, letters, and geographical locations (to name a few.)
Playgrounds
Lone Mountain Park has a total of 5 playgrounds in addition to the Children’s Discovery Park. The playgrounds accompany all ages and have different styles and features.
Near the Equestrian center, you will find a play area with a concrete horse and log structures.
In the southeast area of the park, you will find a fenced toddler playground right next to an older child playground. Both of these playgrounds have plenty of climbing, slides, and age-appropriate swings.
At the north entrance of the park, you will find two more playgrounds. One is a covered traditional play structure for toddlers with swings. The other is a play area for older children that has creative features unlike most parks.
