Las Vegas Families Contribute More Than 200 Donations to Opportunity Village at “Big Screens, Big Hearts” Movie Event
The September 27 event at Regal Red Rock combined a special screening of Forgotten Island with family activities, community partners and support for people with disabilities
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — September 29, 2026 — Las Vegas families contributed more than 200 donated items to Opportunity Village during the latest Big Screens, Big Hearts event, hosted by FamilyFun.Vegas and Regal Red Rock on Sunday, September 27.
Attendees received admission to a special screening of Forgotten Island by bringing requested donations to support Opportunity Village and the people with disabilities it serves throughout the Las Vegas community.
Donations included art supplies, everyday necessities and bags of Halloween candy. The candy will help stock the trick-or-treat stations at Opportunity Village’s upcoming HalloVeen celebration at the Magical Forest.
“Big Screens, Big Hearts gives local families a way to enjoy a memorable experience while making a real difference together,” said Kelly Rossi, owner of FamilyFun.Vegas and Marketing Magnitude. “More than 200 donations were collected for Opportunity Village because families throughout our community each brought something they could give. It is especially meaningful to show children that helping others can be fun, accessible and part of the experiences they already enjoy.”
The Regal Red Rock lobby was transformed with island-themed decorations and interactive activities before the screening.
Representatives from the Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival attended in full Renaissance attire and gave away tickets to the upcoming festival as part of the event raffle. Wetlands Park also hosted a hands-on educational table where children and families could examine animal skeletons and pelts while learning about local wildlife.
The September event continued the mission of Big Screens, Big Hearts: bringing Las Vegas families together for special movie experiences while collecting needed items for local nonprofit organizations, schools and community causes. The initiative’s message, “Giving Back Is Your Ticket In,” makes community involvement an engaging experience for children and adults alike.
Because Big Screens, Big Hearts events are scheduled around new family movie releases, an event will not be held in October. Plans are currently underway for a November screening benefiting the Tyler Robinson Foundation. The movie, date and donation request will be announced once details are finalized.
