SUMMARY:Phantom of the Opera
DESCRIPTION:The Phantom is back to thrill audiences once again! Cameron Mackintosh presents a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary musical\, Phantom of the Opera\, featuring Maria Björnson’s brilliant original design and based on the celebrated direction of Harold Prince\, with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne. \nNow entering its 40th year in London’s West End\, Phantom of the Opera is widely considered one of the world’s most beautiful and spectacular musicals. Since 1986\, Phantom of the Opera has become a global phenomenon\, with productions playing to 160 million people in 217 cities\, 52 territories and in 23 languages. Lloyd Webber’s celebrated romantic and soaring score includes “The Music of the Night\,” “All I Ask of You\,” “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again\,” “Masquerade” and the iconic title song. \nWhat is Phantom of the Opera about? \nBased on the brilliant original production seen around the world\, this is the haunting story of Christine Daaé\, a young soprano whose extraordinary voice enchants a mysterious masked figure known as The Phantom. A brilliant yet tormented musical genius\, The Phantom dwells in the depths of the Paris Opera House\, casting fear over all who inhabit it. Drawn to Christine’s sensational talent\, The Phantom becomes her mentor\, believing she alone can truly bring his music to life\, and as he guides her from the shadows\, he falls deeply and dangerously in love. \nRecommended if you enjoyed: Les Misérables\, Moulin Rouge\, Sweeney Todd. \nAttendees Under 18: Children aged 5 and up with a ticket can attend performances at The Smith Center. However\, based on content\, this show is recommended for ages 8+\, though you know what is most appropriate for your children. All patrons must have their own ticket\, regardless of age. Patrons aged 16 or older may attend the performance without an accompanying adult with their parent’s or guardian’s permission. \nKnow Before You Go: Special Effects: At this time\, known special effects include haze\, fog\, pyrotechnics\, prop firearms and blank firing. Please see signage in theater lobby for updated information.

SUMMARY:“Hook” in Concert
DESCRIPTION:Steven Spielberg’s beloved epic Hook celebrates its 35th anniversary with a spectacular film-to-concert presentation backed by the Las Vegas Philharmonic. The 65-piece orchestra will bring John Williams’ iconic score to life\, performed in sync with the full movie on the big screen\, delivering an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages. \nReleased in 1991\, Hook became a global box office success\, grossing over $300 million worldwide and earning five Academy Award nominations. Starring Robin Williams as an adult Peter Pan — now Peter Banning\, a workaholic lawyer who has forgotten his past life in Neverland — the film follows his daring return to rescue his children from Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman) and rediscover the magic of who he truly is. \nOriginally envisioned as a musical\, the film features two John Williams-penned songs: “We Don’t Want to Grow Up” and the Oscar-nominated “When You’re Alone.” Williams’ lush\, imaginative score — widely regarded as one of his finest — earned two Grammy nominations and the BMI Film Music Award. Beloved across generations\, Hook has become a timeless classic. In concert\, its rich musical landscape and heartfelt storytelling combine to transport audiences back to Neverland\, blending nostalgia and spectacle in one magical celebration. \nOriginal movie cast members will not appear at this show. \nAttendees Under 18: Children aged 5 and up with a ticket can attend performances at The Smith Center. All patrons must have their own ticket\, regardless of age. Patrons aged 16 or older may attend the performance without an accompanying adult with their parent’s or guardian’s permission.
